We periodically have openings period for:

Chore help and egg washing. We are seeking help doing daily chores for our 1800 hens, gathering eggs, and washing and packing those eggs. $14-16/hour. Age 13+. Must be able to work independently. This job involves being outdoors in all weather, working in barns, and also working in the room where we wash eggs. It includes standing for long periods of time and lifting crates of eggs.

The timing of shifts is generally flexible. Chores usually last 4 hours but can be done in 2 hours with 2 people working together. Chores should start after noon and be done by 9 pm. Egg washing shifts should be at last 4 hours and are scheduled to meet both worker needs and the farm’s needs.

We also have a need for special project help, such as moving chickens and fence maintenance, etc.

Job requirements:

  • Lift 50 lbs (and 30 lbs repeatedly)
  • Work efficiently and independently in a wide range of temperatures and dusty, demanding conditions.
  • Drive a riding mower with a small trailer
  • Problem solve and ask for advice in unforeseen situations to maintain worker safety, high quality products and animal care
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • See small imperfections on eggshells
  • Calmly handle the general realities of a farm.
  • Use hand tools proficiently (preferred).
